Best coloring blanket in 2026: 5 kits compared

The best coloring blanket for adults depends on what you want to pay, how big you want it and whether the colors should wash out or stay. We read five offers on October 29, 2026 and lined them up on price, size, markers, washing and US delivery. One of them is ours, so we say plainly where the others do better.

The 5 coloring blankets compared

Here is what each seller writes on its own page, with prices read on October 29, 2026. Prices change often, so check the listing before you buy.

  • Our kit: $39.99, about 59 x 50 in, 24 washable fabric markers in the box. According to the manufacturer, the ink washes out in a regular machine wash. Free US shipping, delivered in 2-3 weeks. See the 7 designs.
  • Coloring Your Own (coloringyourown.com): $84.99 per design (one sold-out design was listed at $67.99), 50 x 60 in, markers not included. Care: heat-set in a hot dryer, wash cold with white vinegar, air-dry. Free US shipping over $99; delivery time not listed.
  • Craftikit (craftikit.com): $34.95 for most blanket designs, 40 x 60 in, 15 fabric markers. The seller says the colors stay through the wash; one listing says machine wash cold and tumble dry low. Free standard US shipping, typically 3-5 business days after 1-2 days of processing.
  • Coloring Blankets (coloringblankets.com): $37.99, size not listed, 24 washable fabric markers. The seller recommends a cold gentle cycle and air drying. Free shipping; US delivery 7-21 business days after 3-5 days of processing. Two of its four designs were unavailable.
  • Low-price marketplace listings: on the first Amazon results page for "coloring blanket with markers", 57 blanket listings ran from $12.47 to $45.99, with a middle price of $34.99. Example: a $23.88 kit with 24 markers, 40 x 55 in, described as washable without saying whether the ink comes out.

How we compared

We used five points a buyer can check: price, size, number of markers, what the seller says about washing, and the US delivery time shown. Every figure comes from the seller's own page, read on October 29, 2026.

We have not tested the other kits, and we have not tested ours in hand either, so there are no stars, scores or coloring blanket reviews here. Where a page did not give a number, we wrote "not listed" instead of guessing.

Washing is the point where kits differ most. Some want permanent ink, heat and vinegar; ours is meant to wash out and be colored again. Our washing guide and our fabric markers page explain both options.

Which is the best coloring blanket for adults?

For adults, the best coloring blanket is the one with a design detailed enough to keep you busy. Our most detailed is Garden Blooms, with flowers edge to edge; like the other designs, it is white line art on a black background, and all 7 are on our designs page. More on this in coloring blanket for adults.

Size matters too. At about 59 x 50 in, ours is wider than the 40 x 60 in kits and close to the 50 x 60 in blankets.

Where others do better: Coloring Your Own has more designs (11 listed), including a holiday one, and is built for a permanent keepsake. Craftikit ships faster and has holiday designs. Coloring Blankets costs $2 less with the same 24 markers.

The $20 listings: what you get

On October 29, the cheapest blanket kits we found were around $20 to $26, not under $20 once you leave the sponsored and seasonal ones aside. The one we read in detail, at $23.88, has 24 markers and a 40 x 55 in throw.

What you often do not get is a clear answer on washing: many listings say "washable" without saying whether that means the blanket, the ink, or both. If you want to color, wash and start again, look for a seller who says the ink washes out.

Where to buy a coloring blanket: online, Walmart, Target, near me

Online is where we found every kit on this page. Walmart's website blocked our automated check on October 29, so we could not read its prices. A web search did not turn up a coloring blanket on target.com. We did not check in store, so for a coloring blanket near me, call your local craft or big-box store before you drive.

Ours is sold on this site at $39.99 with 24 markers and free US shipping. Pick your design here.

Comparison questions

What is the best coloring blanket for adults?

One with a detailed design, a throw size and markers in the box. Ours is $39.99 with 24 washable markers and about 59 x 50 inches. If you want a permanent keepsake and do not mind buying markers, Coloring Your Own has more designs at $84.99.

Are there coloring blanket reviews on this page?

No. We have not tested the other kits or ours in hand, and we have no customer reviews yet, so we compare only what each seller publishes.

Which kit has the most markers?

Among the four shops, ours and Coloring Blankets include 24, Craftikit includes 15 and Coloring Your Own includes none. Some marketplace listings advertise 48.

Can I keep the colors permanently?

Our included markers are washable. For colors that stay, add the permanent fabric markers option for $9.99 per blanket, on top of the washable set in the box.

Can I buy a coloring blanket at Walmart or Target?

We could not confirm it. Walmart's site blocked our check and our search found none on target.com. We did not check in store.

How do I wash a coloring blanket?

Follow the seller's instructions, since they differ a lot. For ours, the manufacturer says the ink washes out in a regular machine wash; our washing guide has the details.
