Pick a design you want to come back to

Choose the subject before anything else. If you love detail, look at Garden Blooms; if you like busy scenes full of small objects, Country Market and Retro Tech. If a design makes you want to start tonight, that is the right one. All of them are on our designs page.

Start with three colors

You have 24 markers, but you do not need them all at once. Pick three that work together and use them on one object: a single flower, a pastry, a cassette tape. Repeat that palette elsewhere, or change it when you move to a new area.

Leaving white is a choice too. On designs with a black background, uncolored lines stay crisp and give the colored parts room.

Set up a spot that works

Lay the part you are coloring flat on a table or a firm cushion, and let the rest of the blanket fall away from it. Good light matters more than a perfect setup. Put a sheet underneath if you color on the couch: the washing statement covers the blanket, not your furniture.

Give yourself easy places to stop

Finish one object, one row or one corner, then decide whether to keep going. A half-colored blanket is not homework. You can color for twenty minutes, fold it over the arm of the couch and come back the next night.

Color alone or with someone

On your own, you set the pace and the palette. With a partner or a friend, split the blanket into zones or take turns choosing the next object. Agree on one palette, or go deliberately different and see how the halves meet.

A hobby, not a treatment

You may enjoy coloring for the slow movement, the visible progress and the break from screens. That is reason enough. We do not claim it reduces stress or improves anything about your health, and we do not sell the blanket as a therapy product.

Wash it, or keep it

According to the manufacturer, the ink of the 24 included markers washes out in a regular machine wash, so you can start over with a new palette. If you finish one you want to keep, look at the permanent fabric markers. More for adults on our coloring blanket for adults page.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know how to draw?

No. The line art is printed on the blanket. You only choose the colors and which shapes to fill.

Which design should a beginner pick?

One with shapes you enjoy looking at. Bakery and Fruit Market have separate objects that are quick to finish; Garden Blooms is for a longer project.

Do I have to use all 24 colors?

No. Start with three if you like, and leave parts of the design white on purpose.

Is coloring good for stress?

We make no health claims. We sell the blanket as a hobby for people who enjoy coloring.
